Kitchen Gadgets

Cooking at home more often tends to lend itself to needing more specialized tools when you want to let your creative juices flow. Here are some of the tools that I use regularly. Some are definitely investments, but in the end, if you use them as often as I do, they truly pay for themselves! Click on the name of each item to find out more specifics on Amazon.

Food Processor
This is like the quintessential kitchen appliance! It is remarkable how much this little baby helps. Whether you're shredding, slicing, or blending, the food processor is the one tool I will never regret investing in.

Standing Mixer
An excellent addition to any baker's kitchen, the standing mixer takes away the task of mixing by hand and is great for most doughs, batters, and egg mixtures.

Spiralizer
Make quick work of fancy vegetable peeling by attaching the vegetable (or fruit) to the prong and then turning the crank toward the blade. You can create spiraled or ribboned food in a snap!

Hand Grater
I mostly use this for grating fresh ginger, garlic, nutmeg, or lemon and lime zesting.

Ice Cream Maker
Want to make your own chilly dessert in whatever flavor combinations you can think of? Chocolate/Nut Butter, Blueberry/Rosemary, Sweet Potato/Cinnamon, etc. Well this little baby will help you get there! I received my Cuisinart as a gift, but I know that Kitchen Aid has an ice cream freezer bowl attachment piece. So if you already have the standing mixer, the attachment piece might be the way to go.
